Dialup POS Card Reader: This is the simplest and most common type of POS card reader, that uses telephone lines to connect to the banking network. This device is mostly used in retail stores with average number of transactions, and it can be easily used by connecting the card reader to telephone line available in stores.
LAN POS Card Reader: This device uses the network and internet platform in order to connect to the banking network. It is mostly used in chain stores, shopping centers and the outlets with a large number of transactions and it maintains a reasonable speed in functioning.
Wireless POS Card Reader: In order to connect this device to the banking network a mobile phone SIM card is needed. on which the feature of data forwarding and receiving through GPRS is activated. These card readers can be used and operated in any location, covered by mobile phone operator. Wireless POS card readers are suitable for distribution companies, door-to-door delivery and the couriers.
Bluetooth POS Card Reader : Like other card readers, telephone line and/or internet are the communication platform used for this model of POS card readers; the difference is that it can be transported wirelessly to a diameter of 50 meters. This device is mostly used in restaurants, coffee shops and other stores.
PC POS Card Reader: SEP POS card readers have the possibility of being connected to computer systems. In this case, the POS function is commanded by a PC. In this way and by issuing the invoice in the seller’s accounting system, the instruction for transaction along with the price and other required information are transferred from the PC to the card reader and the device prints the receipt, only when the transaction is successful and the amount of bill is debited from the customer’s account. The POS card reader simultaneously sends the information required for the computer for entering into the accounting system, so that the information of the financial operation carried out is returned to the system.
